Hermosa Landslide

Coastal bluffs are dynamic landforms, particularly those subjected to shoreline wave action.

Ongoing bluff erosion severely undermined a residence on Hermosa Point, creating hazardous living conditions. The structure was vacated, then condemned by the Tribes who contacted us for recommendations on demolition and restoration practices.

NGA completed a site study assessing the best practices for removal of the residence and restoration of the disturbed surface.

With our recommendations, the structure was removed with minimal impact to the sensitive area, while protecting the surrounding residences.
